About Me
About Me
I was born in Brisbane, Australia in 1980. I always had a desire to see more of the world, so at 18 I packed up and went backpacking for 18 months, mostly through the UK.
Back in Brisbane, days before my 21st birthday, I met Andrew, who I would later marry. We moved to Canberra, where I led an active life doing triathlons.
In early 2005, it was thought I had a thoracic aortic aneurysm - same as my dad and aunt died from in their 20’s. My sporting life came to a grinding halt, and in the same year, Andrew and I got married, Andrew got a job with Google, and we were relocated to Mountain View, California.
On this website, you’ll find a bit about my life, information about my aortic aneurysm, research I’ve done, and my surgery to correct it. You’ll also find a tribute to our son Joshua, stillborn on September 4, 2007 and hopefully some words to comfort those who may have gone through the same thing.
